Ballyhaunis is very busy at the moment in preparation for their 12th Annual Summer Festival. This year's opening ceremony is taking place at Ballyhaunis Community School.

Every Christmas he puts on a spectacular Christmas lights display at his home that is a big attraction for both young and old to raise funds for cancer care. Seamus presented the proceeds of his charitable undertaking  to David O'Donnell of Cancer Care  West.

Ballyhaunis and District Credit Union won the Christmas Window Display Competition which took place in the town in the run-up to Christmas. 

Mary Rochford from Gurteen, Ballyhaunis, won €63,500, including a holiday to Kenya, on last Saturday’s (17th December 2011) National Lottery Winning Streak TV game show held in RTE.
