Mayo teams shortlisted for Irish Crest Awards Featured

Two teams from Mayo have been shortlisted for a prestigious CREST Awards this year. This is the second year of the awards which were presented  for the first time ever in this country last year by President Mary McAleese. The teams are from St. Gerald’s College, Castlebar, Co. Mayo (2 teams) Lacken Enterprise Centre.

McDonnell’s XL Killala has re-launched its new look store, coinciding with the businesses’ 10 year anniversary as part of the XL group. Owners and brothers, Peter and Kevin McDonnell, marked the occasion with a store celebration for local customers and entertainment for all the family.

It’s that time of year again when Cultural organisations and groups in Mayo are busily preparing to throw open their door to audiences who eagerly anticipate the delights that await on September 23rd. This year 25 cultural hotspots throughout county Mayo will be sharing and showcasing a wide variety of Cultural events on the  September 23. 

The 'Ship to Reef' project, proposed for Killala Bay, moved a step closer this week following a meeting between Grainne Uaile Sub Aqua Club members and Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring TD; Michelle Mulherin TD and Gordon Gaffney of Failte Ireland.

Audrey Robinson, experienced business person from Killala, is currently sharing her skills in Sierra Leone with VSO, the charity that recruits volunteers to work in developing countries.  After undertaking a variety of communications and business development roles in Irish companies, Audrey decided this year that a more modest life helping others was for her.
