Bohola basketball and soccer finals presentations

Bohola basketball and soccer finals presentations were held in the Sheridan Memorial Community and Sports Centre, Bohola.

SuperValu staff member, Marc Sheppard and his colleagues from the Kiltimagh store, Damien Conlon, Ray Mannion and Joseph McHugh undertook the Westport Sea to Summit Challenge last year in aid of Special Olympics Connaught. The group raised almost €1,600 and presented the funds to Special Olympics Connaught, regional fundraising coordinator, Lydia  Rogers.

The Strictly Come Dancing Gala Evening in the Park Hotel, Kiltimagh. on Saturday night last proved to be a resounding success, not only for the two charities involved, Coillte Childcare Centre and Western Care Local Services, but for the whole Kiltimagh Community at home and abroad.

February 29th may only come around one year in four, but for children of Bohola National School last Wednesday was a day to remember for another reason entirely. With the Mayo Stages Rally passing close by to their school this weekend, they got a very special opportunity to learn about the safety measures in place to run a motor rally, as well as a first hand demonstration of safety equipment on board a current rally car.

It was a memorable day for the students from St. Louis Community School, Kiltimagh when they visited Leinster House as guests of local Fine Gael TD John O’Mahony. 

€50,000 funding for Áthas School in Kiltimagh

Mayo Fine Gael TD, John O’Mahony has welcomed the announcement that Mayo Autism Action, which is based in the Áthas school in Kiltimagh, has been granted €50,000 from the National Lottery and the Department of Health. The funding will go towards the cost of maintaining and extending the existing services.

The Kiltimagh Remembered series of books by local author, Basil Burke chronicle historical events from Kiltimagh, and the surrounding areas from the 19th  century until recent times. The books remember many of the people, events, places and businesses which combined to shape our lives down through the years with hundreds of historical photographs.

Gameshow Christmas Party Nights in Kiltimagh for Western Care

The Park Hotel in Kiltimagh will be the venue for the Gameshow Challenge Christmas Party Nights on Friday, December 9th and 16th to support Western Care Association, a well-loved charity that provides services and supports for Mayo people with special seeds in community settings throughout the county.

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD and Mayo Fine Gael TDs, Michelle Mulherin and, John O’Mahony, have welcomed additional funding of €620,000 for the Bohola-Kiltimagh Road.
